Yes, fun bit of elf-dragon dialogue! But nice to see Bree’s back…er, side…Um. How much of that was rubbing against Warmheart and/or against Markho?
His behaviour still not what one expects of an Orc, much too polite and courteous. If he is an avatar, I have my suspicions about his earthly/Greysider world origins, but we shall just have to see. An intriguing mystery.
The next episode will be interesting….How will Bree react to Sephni’s new status (and how she ascended the High Elf throne with a bit of regicide), but also Bree and Imugi…I can’t see them hitting it off! So far, apart from Selphni, Umugi hasn’t exactly bonded with anyone else in the Delve world, until you call cutting heads off a form of ‘bonding’. Fun times are a-comin’!!
The Delve has shown its fair share of corteous, well-spoken Orks. Look at Sings-to-Foxes, or at Arka. Just because they value strength doesn’t mean they won’t value politeness. Even more politeness with someone THAT much stronger than themselves. No need for him to be an avatar.
Just speculation on my part, and the comment be polite to dragons who might eat you could be a valid one, but Sings-to-Foxes was a shaman, so more of the Orc elite, Arka, on the other hand, was rather barbaric, she wanted Bree and Co. dead, if you remember! But Markho is apparently not of the Orc elite – shaman or chieftain – but an ordinary foot-soldier caught up in the mess of war. In general, the Orcs depicted here in the Delve world are rather primitive and barbaric – witness the arena arc. Warmheart especially seems to be of the thinking he is something more than just an ordinary Orc. And remember what Mala said. By the author’s track-record, not everyone in the Delve are always who, or what, they first seem to be.
Arka wanted them dead, but was very polite about it, if you remember her two first pages. “”I’m sorry, but most of you are probably going to die today” (https://thisis.delvecomic.com/NewWP/comic/truth/).
And I was specificaly thinking of the arena arc – Renata may have a thicker accent than… than some things she stated she liked thick, but she is eloquent and well-spoken; and the “is well-spoken” seems not to be a shaman thing, because Sha’Ni’s speech is… colorful
AAAAAAND she was polite and well-spoken about their likely impending demises before that. Instead of being rude towards the likely-to-be-killed prisoners of an enemy race, as so often is the case (look at Gint and Buzzard here https://thisis.delvecomic.com/NewWP/comic/eyes-not-hands/); or instead of being polite only AFTER knowing it was a powerful entity, like Cherek did with Bree (and Markho did with Warmie, to be honest).
So it seems that among Delve Orks, having a way with words is… not exactly the basis of their culture, but is a common enough trait (incidentally, this has paralelisms with many a IRL culture that relies on oral tradition), and apparently every orc quickly develops a good bootlicking tongue in front of those more powerful (which incidentally, also happens IRL in every culture where the one with power is actually expected to do whatever they want with the ones with less power). If the one groveling -err, being polite, is NOT well-spoken, you have Gint; if he IS well-spoken, you have Markho.
Markho’s attitude towards Warmheart probably has to do with making sure he is not eaten. I have noticed that often some of the nasty creatures seem to have attitude changes when they are no longer part of a group of same type of creature.
As much as I enjoy the eye candy in this comic, the total lack of obviously useful clothing just makes me roll my eyes. Having said that, its nice to see the artist acknowledge it.
I wonder what would happen if they “depetrified” the statue of Bree in Nefice’s lair. The Dracomage extracted and captured both her soul and Moonblade’s into the lower level but you never quite know what a mage can do with something like your body and previous vessel. Although Jen was never directly in Bree’s last body.
Hmmm, I wonder when we will get to see Warmheart assume her human aspect. That will be interesting. She seems to be ‘warming up’ to Markho.

Arka wanted them dead because she got an aura-look a Breen (or was it Seph?) and freaked out
Just followed the linkage back, and Arka didn’t manage to reach Breen before freaking out at Seph

If that beautiful ass of hers is sore, I’d be happy to do what I can ease her pain. I bet Markho would too!

We all know Bree isn’t going to get to keep pants.
So, we going to get answers to the Stoning?
Wonder how Nogrog has been doing…
Or… wear something that’s not ass-less. I mean the ass-less is reminding me of Crayon Shin-chan where he enjoys shaking his ass at everyone.

Fairly sure she was depetrified years ago
Breen and Moonie didn’t ‘die’ at that point
Y’all be some thirsty azz mudder-truckers.
