Another excellent page, especially panel 1. Very wise (maybe) of Markho to arm himself with a sword. As for the heads, Imugi’s speciality is decapitation, perhaps she collects them? Less boring than wallpaper. Bree a bit too defensive of her friend Sephni, who may not kill bugs, but she certain slaughtered a few Drakons back when she tipped over into insanity, and she did put Tuul down, at his request, but Milo has never forgave her. Nor, it would seem, did she stop Imugi murdering the palace guards, who, one could argue, were just doing their jobs, so she is accessory to murder. Does turning everyone to stone (including the dead bodies) count as murder? Incidentally, how was that done? Does the High Elf throne have certain powers? So far, that has not been explained. I love the last panel, Bree’s ears twitching.
Sorry? Who else would it be when we saw Imugi slaughtering at least some of the palace guards?? How did she and Sephni get to the throne-room? You’re just being ‘black-is-really-white’ again, Guesticules. Two and two equals four, even in the Delve world.
When did we see her ‘slaughtering some of the palace guards’?
Will admit to not remembering a lot, but people have been against Imugi from the moment she appeared and saved Seph… Oh that’s it, you all wanted Seph to die at that moment, so anyone who helps must be evil
We saw her kill the three that were sent to kill Seph (did we ever find out who sent them?), and then we saw them enter the throne-room, no killing shown in between
And if she did, remember, the Moon Elves were working for Kindall, so were the enemy
And it’s just as likely it was done when Capria returned Kindall to his ‘throne’ (again, the Moon Cult were working for Kindall, and were not High Elves, which would explain why their uniforms look different to Breen)
So, how about you stop with the whole “Seph and Imugi are the new Evil”, mm’kay?
At least until we find out what is going on, specially with the stoning
The Mindripper told Bree about the contract on Sephni (episode 453) “It’s always someone you know.” Likewise, the three Red Fang assassins were under orders to kill Sephni (474/5), again sent by Capria. There WAS killing in between. Episode 537, Imugi killed the three palace guards who Capria had instructed not to intervene, but one says “After what she did at the gate”, implying more guards had died earlier – just because you don’t see the bodies.
In the throne room Capria, “someone you know”, Bree’s other friend, is the puppet-mistress, Kindall the puppet, completely broken from his ordeal with the Devourer. Sephni, still alive, hence the legal Queen, is the obstacle to Capria’s power over King Kindall (king only in name and by virtue of being Sephni’s husband). But remember, he, too, wanted Sephni dead, to the Devourer.
As for the moon-elves, that was a good observation, but Kindall (was he of the moon elves himself? He was only marrying into the High Elf Kingdom) probably using them rather than trust the high elf guards (who would, at that time, still been loyal to the King.) No one has said “Seph and Imugi are the new evil” – where did you pluck that from? But Imugi is hostile to much of the D&D/Delve world, she is becoming the kind of monster that Charlie warned Paige about.
Kindall was doing this shit before his mind was broken after experiencing what he wanted Seph to experience
Capria is a Shadow Elf, and a queen in her own right
Of course Imugi is ‘hostile to much of the Delve world’, because she is an outsider and doesn’t belong (or understand half of what is going on), and she is trying to survive in a world that is largely hostile to her
There is an error in grammar “But their gear looks different than how I remember it did”
Should be “But their great looks different than how I remember…” or something along those lines.
It looks wrong somehow.
Can’t remember but the comic is great!
Thanks for the catch, but I still think that’s how she would say it. I try to read all the lines in my head in the voices of the characters, and this is how it came out when I imagined it.
Also of note: there is not nearly enough blood on the floor for those kind of injuries, unless they were being turned to stone or something at the same time as they were beheaded/disarmed/un-handed.
And Sephni’s attitude towards death and dying is a bit … unusual … after all of her trauma. She may not even see it as “hurting” if they were already going to die anyways. And who knows what Imugi has convinced her of in the meantime.
Yeah, I debated how much gore to show in this scene. I used to go a little heavy handed with depictions of the stuff, but maybe I’ve gone a little soft in my old age. 8)
Thanks for noticing. As you’ll recall, Kindall preferred to work with moon elves rather than high elves. That’s how Bree wound up meeting a certain blade.
Wow, I just love the consistent logic carrying through the saga, going back years and years. True world-creating stuff. Just one more reason why I love Delve.
Yeah, remembered Moonie (and how Breen got her sticky thief hands on her ), just wasn’t sure if they were a specific type of Elf (like the Wood or Dark) or a group
Sephni? Pleaaaaase….
They know each other so well… XD
But where are their heads?
I suggest to search for that famous Cronemberg movie scene from the 80s “Scanners”, it’s the first hit in all video-searches. XD
Did someone do a ‘Venom’ on them because their heads are nowhere in sight.

Again, assuming it was Imugi who did this

A good habit to get into, people rarely speak in pefect sentences. Awesome work as always man!

Or eaten?

Is that a moon symbol on the she-guard?
Who has a moon as their symbol? Other than Moonie
