Let’s be fair. Our green/white tecnico is better at monologue than our green/pink rudo. At least HE got to finish his monologue – and DID catch PLoD’s “enough monologue” attack. Compare and contrast with comic 612.
This is, of course, Mr Hunter’s counter-argument to those who advocated last week Sark stood back and let others finish off Cherek. That was never going to be how things rolled. They all missed the point of this cycle. This is Sark’s story. This is him – much like Jen and her avatar Bree earlier in the business of accepting the Wood Elf crown – Sark reflecting on his previous ‘graysider’ life and personality. It was always obvious that this had to be Sark vs. the dragon puppet Cherek. Anything less would like lead to Sark being diminished, both in status with the Orc/Delve world, but – you all seem to forget – his graysider persona also. This is a certain theme throughout Delve, about self-discovery and inner heroics. We’ve seen it with Bree/Jen. We’ve seen it with minor characters, the Valryn (and Thess especially). We’ve seen it with Paige.
Don’t sneer at the monologue or the pace. Delve is about characters, and understanding characters. Even the bad guys have their motive, like the Mind-ripper. That’s what moves them from 2-dimensional comic strip creations to a more 3-dimensional reality, that we, the reader, might reflect upon. That’s what makes Delve special – oh, and the superior artwork, of course!
Sorry, yes AND the tits. But Delve has always been something more clever and subtle than frontal nudity or elves, monsters, orcs and dragons. My point still stands. Bree has her story. Paige has her story. This is Sark’s story. It is not – and never was – for others to intervene in the outcome of that story.
You still don’t get the plot, do you? ‘Delegating’, in this neck of the woods means putting other people’s lives in danger. I say it again: I think this has to be Sark’s call only. This is a fight, probably to the death, not a scout camp game. As I recollect, when this lot last meet a dragon, just as Bree had got her pacified, they blundered in and fucked things up. Sark’s sister finished up loosing one eye.
I interpret Sark’s comment thus: he’s done pretending to stronger, braver, and worth following. Now he’s going to BE stronger, braver, and worth following.
Bree, please
Someone got caught with their monologue exposed! 😛

He barely caught it (which technically still counts)
All Cher needs to do is straighten their right middle finger and lights out for Sark

I see your angle, but note that learning to delegate is ALSO part of character growth.

Wasn’t sneering at the monologue, was mocking getting caught while monologueing, and pointing that it’s not just Villains who get caught doing it

Sounds about right
