The Hunt… has changed: it’s no longer a game of “Last Tits Swinging!”, it’s now a game of “Checkers”, and we have a queen to crown (well, it sounded cool in thoughts 😛 )
I don’t understand what rolling for initiative means, never played D&D, I’m here for the fantasy part, the in-game mecanics are totally mysterious to me.
What they said, but to clarify further the DM rolls for each of the enemies and NPCs. Presumably he rolled a 1 for the Devourer’s Avatar, meaning that it’s guaranteed to go last unless one of the others gets a 1.
My reading is the “great devourer” rolled the 1 on his “bluff”, the last question asked was about chasing the elf girl, and the start of this page the realisation is the way to win is to “get this girl safely to her sister”, because “you know what you ain’t”…
Kind of, and NPC’s in Escort-mode can be either notoriously hard to kill (no matter what you do to them: lead them to a nest of dragons, and the NPC is wearing their anti-dragon undies and the dragons can’t even do 1 point of damage) or abysmally easy to kill (no matter what you do to keep them alive: they will walk slower than the turtle they trip over and break their necks, and said turtle was five metres off the path)
You just killed me (of laughter) with those “anti-dragon undies”, I presume that’s how all dragons die in your games: of excessive laughter! XD
Nah, seriously: thanks for the technical explanation.
Now I’ll find myself a treasure cave and laugh myself to death. Anti-dragon undies, I can picture Perthunas-Thor-Apollo wearing nothing but those undies, presumably pink and thongy, or maybe fake leopard skin?, and the ancient Snake-God: “please not anymore!, you can have my treasures, my realm, my Lady, just don’t make me laugh anymore.
Now I can’t but think of a Beowulf satire I once happened to watch randomly. No more anti-dragon undies, please!
Just a reminder: Thor is female now (and no, she isn’t a gender-changed Thor, like they did to Loki {a few times}, they decided to strip the old Thor of not only his title, powers and role butt even his name!)
No idea what you’re talking about Guesticus. I follow the classical mythology on these matters, not whatever modern pop culture meme I’m not even aware of.
I also got the “Howdy. You recently signed up to follow one of my posts. This means once you confirm below, you will receive an email when new comments are posted.” at that same time. I didn’t really think anything of it until now. Apparently it decided to post you under my name and use my e-mail address at the same time. O.o
Was referring to what Marvel did, all in the name of ‘Diversity’ (at least she’s still blond)
Regarding the name thing: that’s a known ‘problem’ ever since the EU decided to vote against websites retaining your login details, just have to keep an eye on the fields and make sure they haven’t already been auto-filled, and if they have, change them
My read is that the Devourer is the thing that eats all campaign worlds when they come to an end. It almost happened, but the the Bree/Jen crossover accident has kept him at bay for the time being. The girls realize they need to keep the adventure going to save the world…must…get…to…Bree 🙂
nice! you know how to leave a cliffhanger!
Thanks!

Well, now we know what that 1 was a roll for.
At least they live. I’m happy with that. Living is cool. Way better than dying.
Eh, depends. Seems to have worked out well for Beddigan.
He was only given a year
I think Phawkes killed the collection agent though.
No, he shot the little rat, butt it didn’t do anything (well, other than Phawkes feeling better)
hmm…well, that’s what happens when you completely botch an initiative roll.
I guess that Lyca is channelling Cpl. Hicks – ‘Marines! We are leaving!’
8)
The Hunt is over? That’s extremely ominous.

Initiative determines turn order, higher roll = acting sooner while low rolls = acting last.
Rolling for initiative in D&D is used to determine the order in which participants (players and non-players) get to do stuff
Not sure how that applies here anyway seeing how Purpley-Blob is still ‘locked down’ by that holding spell

Damn have you been knocking it out of the park with the vote incentives lately!
Thank you very much!

No, the answer to “You know what you ain’t” is “Real”, as in, they are all fictitious characters
> they are all fictitious characters
Aren’t we all?
(Channeling Heinlein’s “World as Myth” here a little. We are all characters in our various stories.)
So they are all NPCs and they have a job to get done, right? NPCs are not into philosophy, nihilism or depression because all is pointless, right?

Ah, Redridge escort quest… good times…

That was Maju, no idea how “Xycad” got typed into the name box. I was not paying attention but shouldn’t have happened in any case. Weird!

Huh, wow. Yea, that is weird Maju. haha

That’s most weird. I’m hoping it’s just a bug and not a hack. O.O

They are empty now (slightly annoying) but I don’t recall filling the name and email when that happened.
The EU is sometimes quite annoying indeed.

that actually makes sense
Makes sense indeed, but I’m oh-so-much against this confusion between fantasy and modernity, that I’d prefer you were wrong.
Another webic that blends a ‘fantasy’ setting with a ‘real world’ setting is “Guilded Age”
Happy Holidays.
