Wait… Bree is the current crowned Queen. Paige may not be in line to the throne any longer but she’s the Queens sister. Wouldn’t she still be a Princess? I don’t think you loose the Prince/Princess title after another sibling is crowed.
That doesn’t mean she still isn’t a princess. Just not an Heir, very different. A prince/ss is an individual in the royal family. Unless she was somehow disowned by her father no matter what position or role she takes on she is still related to the current queen. A Royal Title is very difficult to remove.
But “princess” is a honorary title that does not imply claim to the throne, that’s usually called “crown prince” or just “heir (presumpt)”. “Prince” or “princess” usually just mean close family relatedness to the king or queen, even consorts sometimes get that title.
It’s not an honorary title, it’s reserved for the children of the monarch, even those not in line
Prince’s Andrew and Edward and Princess Anne are not in line, but they still have the title because their mummy is Queen (for life)
Consorts get the title if they are male, because idiots would get confused over who was in charge (that’s why Prince Phillip was never ‘King Philip’, but the queen’s mother was a Queen)
Late for the discussion, but just for the record and for informative purposes (having the English princes been mentioned), in other European countries, like Spain, the title “prince/ss” is reserved for the actual heir aparent (what the British would call “crown prince”), and all the other sons/daughters/grandchildren of the monarchs are called “infant”.
Good points! Still, while Finch may be perfectly justified in calling Paige a princess, from her point of view, her decision to leave the monarchy behind was a little more absolute, and she wants nothing at all to do with its titles.
In theory, if her Gray Wards (sic?) order was a monastic/ semi-monastic one, she would renounce ” all worldly ties” on taking her vows. Then she’s just Sister Paige or something similar.
It is possible to renounce all ties to the throne, including titles
Harry Windsor did that, he no longer (thanks to the help of that gold-digging actress slut) can claim any title, SO STOP FUCKING CALLING HIM THE DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE!!!!
Just like his great great uncle before him (his grandmothers uncle), he is just a normal commoner now
Oof. How bad is it that her father got people to feel that way about him, and his daughter admit it?!
And that’s why Bree ran away from home, and almost refused the crown
It happens a lot with fathers, I guess, especially posh ones.

She renounced her claim to the throne previously:

Kinda rude for her to demand her sister take up the title when Bree felt the same way as Paige about it then.

Yeah, that explains a lot

He’s not a commoner, he’s a gentleman. Easier way is through religious orders. But that’s not the same as renouncing rights for a crown.
I don’t think there’s enough appreciation of the absolute madlad Pen. Who wouldn’t consider a spontaneous interest in skin therapy given the chance?
