We’re operating in the ‘Graysider’ world. If Phawkes and Prancy (or even Teal) can’t go, the possibilities are Mandy, Paul and Neal, OR (and this would be a twist) Brian and Jen’s fellow three D&D gamers who were Melric, Thorden and Nimrol in the Delve. We know they exist in the ‘Graysider’ world, we saw them when Jen got upset and walked out on Brian. Right now, I’m betting the former. They already have issues with the Devourer minion.
Only a possibility, other than the three ‘characters’ of Brian’s id, Mandy, Paul and Neal. Not sure if the three gamers finished up “hating” Brian because of Jen. Bree (as Jen) certainly didn’t think too highly of them, as within the first two episodes they had done a runner and abandoned her to the Lizard King. They did make amends (sort of) in the final fight against the Drakon cult, but then vanished completely and rather mysteriously, especially given the nature of their ‘existence’ in the Delve anyway. But with Mr Hunter we should always be ready to “expect the unexpected”. It was only another possibility. Either way, Brian isn’t happy!
Phawkes, Prancy and Teal belong exclusively to the Delve D&D world, Mandy & Co are part of Brian’s personal Graysider world mental baggage, creatures, or manifestations, again of his id. How the DM operates is another issue, although, I guess, in theory he is another extension of Brian’s subconscious world as a D&D dungeon master. Someone, on the Necrovert site, has commented on getting “Forbidden Planet” vibes. All, hopefully, will be revealed next week!
Those seem the most likely. I imagine itβs the gamer group which would do Brian some good to repair his life if he reached out to real people in the grey side.
Only third option I see is another set of characters from a RPG campaign he ran in his old town/home since he mentioned drawing dungeons there. Presumably he would only be able to do so once he got to the old town but it could be new characters OR characters from other parts of the wider delve-verse that have interacted briefly in seemingly side worlds. This may give more depth and reason for their existence in the comic.
I don’t remember anyone … should I start rereading or wait for next page?
You can re-read while waiting for next page.
Or understand that DM=DM and Jen=Bree.
Or both.
show of hands. how many of us went to that place as kids? πββοΈ
…Why do I feel he’s about to summon some of his Delve characters to help?
The Draco Mage seems so happy! π

Why do I feel like DM and Brian are staring at me?
His old gaming group?
The ones who hate him for what he did to Jen?

Why would the ID-iom’s have any more ability of moving around Grayside than P, P & T?

DM channeling Paul Bearer here. They’re about to summon someone from the Other Side.
Does the Kool-Aid guy count? He is usually on the Other Side of a wall…
