Young man!
There’s no need to feel down, I said.
Young man!
Pick yourself from the ground, I said.
Young man!
‘Cause you’re in a new town, there’s no need to be unhappy.
I had a super religious family upbringing. My parents did not approve of… well, a lot of things. The funny part was my flustered father not being able to explain to me exactly why I wasn’t supposed to watch the Village People on TV.
To his credit, though, he was was the one who got the rest of my family off my back about the whole “Dungeons and Dragons is satanic” thing, so, thanks, Dad.
Uh-uh…That was unexpected! Another twist! And, oh boy, when Bree/Jen finds out (hope she was on the pill) she is going to be super-pissed as to Sark’s graysider identity. That darn boy been, not only playing too much D&D, but watching them videos and reading them top-shelf adult magazines!
As always, excellent art, and Sha’Ni is a whole bag of fun.
This week’s Incentive Art is fabulous, but then anything featuring Bree gets the 200%-plus points! This no exception, and the video – thank you, Mr Hunter! – was especially great, with a nice little lesson in the comparisons of arrogance and being humble. Take note, folks out there! This message is for you all.
Is that a TV dinner tray or a school lunch tray ? it looks more like the latter to me with the roll and the carton of milk, unless they’re making some heavy duty frozen dinner trays nowadays, I’m past 60 and they didn’t look like that when I was a kid, we didn’t have school lunches either, I carried a lunchcan with a thermos inside π
We ever had either down here, but probably is a school lunch tray (or a prison slash juvenile detention facility tray)
Just figured it would have been an angry parent more likely to refer to him in that way
Which ever it turns out, still guessing this to be a flashback to a younger grey-self rather than last Thursday
Sorry, Guesticules, but I can’t see why we would flashback to a younger Sark graysider self. And certainly I can’t see any reason to suppose Sark is 60s to 80s in ‘real time’. Judging from things like the answer-phone in Jen’s fake apartment and the D&D game, I think the grayside world is probably 1990s rather than 2010s/20s. Not being American, I can’t comment on the TV dinner tray (although I liked the milk carton, that was cute). Hopefully, next week will reveal more, but Mr Hunter is certainly having fun with his surprise twists!
Sark didn’t seem to me to have an immature mind, so I’m also guessing this is a flashback to years ago. The best clue I’ve seen about which decade he grew up in is his favorite pro wrestlers.
Back in #369, Sark said he was a fan of El Santo. That makes me guess we’re seeing a flashback to the Seventies, but it could be a few years later, or even as far back as the Forties. If he’s younger than fifty, he must’ve liked the old low-budget Mexican flicks he watched on late-night TV. He could-be Mexican-American.
Poor Sark has committed the worst mistake any animated/drawn character can ever make – that of being at any time depicted at age (younger than 18), and is now cursed, because as everyone knows once you’ve been 13 once, you’re 13 always and can never get older, even when you’re 100, wrinkly and grey, you’re still 13 and people will be enraged at the thought that you might have had sex.
I don’t think it’s a TV dinner tray; rather, it seems more like a school cafeteria lunch tray since it has a small milk carton on it. You know – the meals served to elementary school students up to the age of 10 or 11?
BTW, why do American schools not use actual tableware? My school cafeteria used actual plates, heck, my kindergarten used plates as well, what’s with you people on that other side of the ocean?
No clue what they use these days, but when I was school, it was a (possibly fiberglass… not really sure what they were made of) tray that could be steam-blasted clean after the meal.
Ever wondered why US schools were called ‘institutions‘? And what else are called ‘institutions’ in the US?
Basically, places that don’t like inmates with sharp objects
We didn’t even have cafeteria’s, certainly not like that, we either brought our own lunch (not in brown paper bags π ) or bought things that didn’t need to be put on a tray and eaten with cutlery
OMG. Sark’s gray-side identity. I just can’t…

Heh heh, I got in trouble for dancing to that as a kid.
Why? It’s a cool song with fun dance moves (which none of the VPeople actually perform in the video π )

That is likely a flash-back to Young Grey-Side Sark, but judging by that TV Dinner tray, Current Grark might be in his 60’s or even 80’s…

First ‘ever’ was meant to be a ‘never’ π

It’s a flashback because he’s remembering something, he sure as shat isn’t eating lunch at school at the same time as drinking not-goat piss

That’s not really much of a clue, considering the calibre of the ‘stars’ you have now π

Thanks! As for Sark’s “real” age… stay tuned.
