Mortal Sins

Lassa is all out of bubblegum.
In other news, I have a Gumroad shop now for digital downloads! I’ve started putting some of my old sketchbooks up so far, but I wanted to ask if you folks might be interested in anything Delve-related there, like Bonus Art compilations or digital compendiums of the comic?
Check it out here:
Loved the latest voting incentive! I don’t know how the standing splits meme started, but I’m already loving it. Please do Miko next!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
“”We’re losing her”
Sounds like “Cap’n, we’re losing core containment! It’s going to blow!”

That is NOT a good place to get a cut, no matter how shallow. That may be more mortal (title check) than the pink naga blade to the spine for Jumping Jack Flash.
Yeah, that should cut femoral artery. Death in less than minute…
The artery is cut across, not along. She has a chance to survive, but she may lose her leg.
Don’t they have artifact capable of healing everything? This wouldn’t even hurt too much when healing, being clean cut …
Thanks for noticing!
I still don’t fathom how that key-axe “weapon” may work. It should not go deep, it should be unweildable for the user (tiny handle) and also axes are hack and not slash weapons, they rely on impact strength mostly. The rabbit guy should be using a knife for that kind of move not a toy axe.
You may as well ask how Bree on this and previous page managed to miss him with her blade, twice. She was in perfect position for a stab, but went for a from-behind-the-head slash instead. Well, I guess that’s them rules of spectacularity.
First attack, I think she meant to hit him with the pommel. This time, he just teleported behind her. I was going to include the little ziff sound effect that usually accompanies the “om’ra” spell, but I was afraid that panel was already too cluttered.
In the previous page she didn’t have a proper blade, Kel was sabotaging it.
Also Ketzulak (spelling?) seems quite nimble and magically empowered, enough to avoid some of Bree’s dexterous attacks.
She did have a “proper” blade on the previous page. And on the pre-previous ones, too — it had two sharp tips to stab with.
But apparently Bree is not quite in charge now — previously she used stabbing pretty frequnetly, and to great results.
That’s not the definition of a blade, which is having a sharp edge to cut or slash with. She might have used the point to stab, I guess, but would not be a blade in any case.
Also we do not know how exactly the tying of the two blade-souls by Kel might be restricting the potential of the weapon, she probably did the right thing, because that way she deactivated Kel.
I’m imagining Zak’s key blade as a sort of overly-elaborate scalpel. Not terribly effective in combat usually, more of a tool for causing pain. He prefers not to kill but rather to leave his targets with crippling, lifelong trauma. Sort of like Bat Man.
No idea about that Bat Man guy (not the classical Batman, right?) but shouldn’t a scalpel have a straight uninterrupted blade, the dent in the middle kind of defeats the mechanics IMO, it should get entangled at everything.
But don’t mind me: realism sometimes defeat storytelling. I tend to be hypercritical, for the good and for the bad.
I’m pretty sure that was in fact a joke on classical super heroes batman, because all of the villains he tangles with tend to develop severe psychological problems. Most of them were already headed that way to begin with, but I digress.
But how, sir??? Physically, I mean – they are moving full speed from each other at the moment… Agree with Jeff that there is an artery there, but how, sir??
Relative momentum gets a little confusing when teleportation spells get involved.
HAH! Fuckripper didn’t count on Lassa, or Breen’s blade being able to do that! 😀
Kel did this trick 200+ pages ago all on her own.
No, pretty sure that ‘Slice’n’dice’ puree move was pre-Kel, heck, it was pre Moonie and Lassa taking up permanent residence in the blade
Pretty sure the blade was always Kel.
Wait, has he not noticed Breen looks, and sounds, ‘different’? o_O
Bree’s left hand in the first frame is not correct. The little finger is more like a thumb than a little finger. As a result, it looks like a second right hand.
That’s absolutely correct criticism: that hadn is wrongly drawn. Ahem!
From his expression both of them got hit
Nice Pet Shop Boys reference! I listened to that song just the other week.
Also, Bree looks really scary here, not only the gray/black color but the facial expression is like something from a nightmare. Kelathuzak looks in the last panel like he understands that he may have bitten off more than he can chew…
He talks more than a Marvel villain.
