His minions and power are not consumed by the act.
Heck, if any dies they just return to life through his soul catching engine.
He risks nothing but spending a little time and putting idle resources to work, in exchange for increasing his overall power afterward
The man just doesn’t learn does he? You don’t want a pissed of rouge traipsing about your abode, you want them as far away as possible, preferably on a far distant tropical beach with a fruity drink with one of those little umbrellas in it. Having an angry rouge in your house means you can say goodbye to nice things, ’cause they’ll steal them, and goodbye to a good nights sleep, because angry rouge. The fact that the rouge in question is both female and elvin just makes things worse. All a guy would do is knife you in the back, women can be both cruel, and inventive, and elves usualy live at least a thousand years. That is a long time to be looking over your shoulder.
He seems to be a lot more powerful than Nefice, and she was able to create a curse Rune on Bree that would kill her if she didn’t comply. I’m sure DM has some rather unpleasant magical way of enforcing the deal. He may not be the sharpest tool in the toolbox, but he’s not going to trust a Rogue to keep her end of the bargain without insurance.
The forever thing has me thinking. First he’d have to have some way to ensure she’d keep up her end of the deal, a magic mark or curse or something, but second and more importantly, how to make sure she’s around forever to serve?
I think he’s a Lich, so a type of undead. Maybe infect Bree with vampirism?
He caught her soul and gave her a new body all ready and she is not undead now. So i goes with out saying she could die and be reborn as many time as necessary for ever.
Most of the time, yes, you can. You may have to rest for a specified number of hours between uses, depending on the rules for that particular ability, but unless he was reading it off a single-use scroll or something like that, he should be able to repeat as many times as he wants to.
But see, where did it say he did it himself? Was it him? Was it a magic item? Was it one of his minions? You guys are kinda assuming he’s the all powerful type. Powerful, yes. Obviously. But all powerful? If he was that strong why would he get upset about the Nogrog? I guess the the Nogrog could be all that and we just don’t know it yet…
The Dracomage carved out the Delve beneath the Worldroot mountains, using great forbidden magics, in search of the Forbiddenest magics, and is now lord over said Delve – so sayeth ye all-knowing “About Delve” page. Moreover, he’s the Boss on Level 99, and therefore must be the most powerful creature in the game, um, I mean Delve, by a fair margin. His concern about the Nogrog is, I expect, that she is an unknown quantity, a goddess who he knows little about and whose powers could potentially rival his – or not. but he doesn’t know, and that’s what worries him.
Nah. She will reluctantly accept much like she accepted Nefice’s job because she is absolutely dedicated to save her elf princess friend. However the end is open and of course our pretty rogue will find a way to challenge the Dracomage and win in an epic final battle.
True. But she won’t get the DM’s army’s backing that way, not even an easy way out of LEVEL 99, let alone the DM fortress. And she will have the DM (i.e. the Dungeon Master) conspiring against her instead than in her favor.
Not that all that matters for such a hardy, nimble, deft, self-reliant and overly lucky rogue, except for, well, that it seems better for the story. I may be wrong though.
Ah, that’s just it – agreed that normally having the DM working against you would be the kiss of death, but Bree has an even more powerful ally – the author. A rogue with the Blessings of Wormius, Patron Deity of Busty Elven Adventurers everywhere, could not possibly be thwarted by any mere DM. π
More to the point, I think he’s totally bluffing anyway. If he’s unhappy about having a relatively harmless Gogoddess loose in his Delve, it would be 1,000 times worse for him if the cult manages to resurrect Draxxorel into his Delve. It’s in his own interest to help Bree, and he knows it – he’s just trying to bluff her into giving up the goods when she doesn’t really need to give up anything to get his assistance.
Spell check – that should have been “Gorgoddess”, not Gogoddess. AKA Nogrog, AKA Alabaster Idol. She may even have an actual name at some point down the road.
That would be awesome but The Lord of the Delve has said a few times that he wouldn’t turn this xxx. Although I think we’d all be happy with a Hard R or NC-17 Bree π
“Veto on duties” seems to be mutually exclusive with the definition of “slave”. If she gets to veto any duties she doesn’t like, that’s not really “serving him forever”, that’s “Serving him whenever she feels like it or not”. I don’t think that’s what he’s got in mind.
Hey, this is romantic for an evil overlord, at least he’s offering her something of value – usually it’s just grab the damsel and toss her into the harem with no options.
Come to think of it, that’s already happened to her at least once.
Nah. Not at all related. The Gorgon Goddess or Nogrog, as we used to know her, is not blond but snake-haired (and the snakes are grey) and has a much weaker (slim) complexion than Sephni, as well as a less ultra-white skin shade, especially since she became goddess. Besides she was not held prisoner and she would have recognized Bree.
So NO!, re-read the full comic from the beginning.
The magical power of the amazing BE dress continues to increase! Either it gets more powerful the longer she wears it, or perhaps it feeds on her emotions as she gets excited/upset? The more important question – how long does it last after she takes it off? π
And I would also like to say again that when I grow up I wanna be DracoMage. If only to be able to tell Bree: “you will serve me forever” with an ominous yet a bit sarcastic tone.
Never mind if he actually succeeds in his scheme (then I wanna be DM even more) but I would be satisfied just with the cute pink naga slave and the versatile electro-worms.
All his power, and all his minions… so he can get one additional minion?
Not saying that she isn’t worth it or anything.
His minions and power are not consumed by the act.
Heck, if any dies they just return to life through his soul catching engine.
He risks nothing but spending a little time and putting idle resources to work, in exchange for increasing his overall power afterward
There are worse jobs then being a DM-PC.
8) They never seem to miss their saving throws do they?
This has a very “I am altering the deal. Pray I don’t alter it any further.” vibe to it.

I thought of that, but just because you can do something once, you can do it countless times. Right?

a wedding ring?
In otherwords, Bree’s gonna go in solo
Nah. She will reluctantly accept much like she accepted Nefice’s job because she is absolutely dedicated to save her elf princess friend. However the end is open and of course our pretty rogue will find a way to challenge the Dracomage and win in an epic final battle.
Shouldn’t be too hard for her – in her previous 2 encounters, she’s got the drop on him twice. Bree 2, DM 0.
True. But she won’t get the DM’s army’s backing that way, not even an easy way out of LEVEL 99, let alone the DM fortress. And she will have the DM (i.e. the Dungeon Master) conspiring against her instead than in her favor.

By serve you mean sex right
What would make you think that? Are you suggesting that there might be some sort of sexual subtext to this webcomic? π
That would be awesome but The Lord of the Delve has said a few times that he wouldn’t turn this xxx. Although I think we’d all be happy with a Hard R or NC-17 Bree π
How’s about half of your minions and half your power for a few decades of service? C’mon. We’ve set the baselines, now it’s time to haggle!
Hmm, negotiations with a pretty elf rogue wearing a body enhancing dress. This is so not going to go well for the Dracomage.
Terms: No princess in good shape and restored to power = no hot elven slave. Also, a veto on what “duties” she has to perform.
“Veto on duties” seems to be mutually exclusive with the definition of “slave”. If she gets to veto any duties she doesn’t like, that’s not really “serving him forever”, that’s “Serving him whenever she feels like it or not”. I don’t think that’s what he’s got in mind.
You know, most guys just get the girl a ring and maybe some flowers…
ya I agree with angrysquig talk about romance being dead and all wow
Hey, this is romantic for an evil overlord, at least he’s offering her something of value – usually it’s just grab the damsel and toss her into the harem with no options.

Anyone late think the gorgon goddess is actually princess sepheni? Blond, blue eyes, both held captive in the dungeon…..
Nah. Not at all related. Is it just me or does her bust seem to be getting bigger again?
The magical power of the amazing BE dress continues to increase! Either it gets more powerful the longer she wears it, or perhaps it feeds on her emotions as she gets excited/upset? The more important question – how long does it last after she takes it off? π
Or does she only think itβs the dress?
It’s gotta be the dress.
And I would also like to say again that when I grow up I wanna be DracoMage. If only to be able to tell Bree: “you will serve me forever” with an ominous yet a bit sarcastic tone.
