And by showing dragon magic cherek just broke rules and now has EVERY orc wanting to go kill a certain dragon(even if the dragons did make the orcs, they didn’t control the orcs tribal laws
I got the impression that the dragons didn’t so much “make” the Orcs as much as “eating their eggs” was the catalyst that turned goblins into the first Orcs.
Sort of the difference between building some furniture yourself, and having someone else use your arms and legs to build a chair.
it has been hinted before that the shamans are basically ready to fireball the everloving crap out of cheaters.
I know, I know, shamans usually don’t use fireballs. But these are Orcs. Neva enuff dakka.
According to the other comments, it depends on who’s willing (and capable) of spending more mana: that one certain dragon, on outhealing; or the shamans in the stands, on the fireballs.
time to mention that “fireball” was used as humorous example of offensive magic and very likely what happens will NOT be an actual fireball – unles Sha’Ni is VERY pissed off
Incidentally… dunno if Wormius shall explore THIS angle of the story, but from a writting standpoint, this is the end of Cherek’s character as it was written so far.
I mean, until now, Cherek was openly playing a certain character in public: he was actively mantaining the public image of the implacable yet honorable avenger, the one who acepts no lies, the one who always keeps his word – even if that word is “kill all those mofos”, the one who sacrifies elves gleefully with his own hands but leads his men from the front, to revenge and jusitice (or his idea of that).
Well, that image is, as of this point, dead. CHEREK may be alive, but HIS CHARACTER is dead.
As said, no idea if Wormius will explore that angle or has other ideas in mind, but I found that worth mentioning.
Really depends on how much longer the character gets to remain at all
But yes, “Cherek, the Holy Orc Avenger” is dead and gone, rise “Cherek, the Pink Lackey of Dragons”
You know, Cherek PLoD, with all his talk about strength, could do well by listening to the villain of another comic, good old Xykon, talking abouut power (but replace it with “strength” and you get the exact same result).
“You seem to have an interest in power, so let me educate you a little (…) Power, it isn’t something that you put on or take off like a jacket. It’s something you just ARE. If you can lose it by blowing two Will saves” (or by getting that scale removed from your head, or losing the dragon’s favor), “you never really had any power in the first place, see what I’m saying?”
Yeah, people who are given power (or strength) quickly forget that it was not theirs to begin with but start acting like it was always there and believe it always will… until they lose it
Which is different to those who have been loaned the power (or strength): they tend to either be careful how and where they use it, or work at making either it their own (by defeating the one who gave it to them so they can’t take it back) or acquire their own so they are no longer reliant on someone else
And yeah, replies can be judgemental at times 🙂
And then he gets a chest full of arrows for cheating.
Aaaaaand Cherek just became a legit target for every shaman wishing to avenge their unfairly killed leaders. Just saying.

Yeahhhh, that’s not gonna fly well with the others…
Pun intended.
Our people respect only one thing: that your foe is dead.
Kill first, brag later.
In a well-regulated tournament, a volley of crossbow bolts from the stands would follow, aimed at Cherek. But this is an orcish tournament, so…

And they even stated that if caught cheating the tournament is canceled and cheater is killed
I just hope Sha’Ni gets the killing blow. You know, I’m not about deadly revenges, but given how his life is already forfeit for that…
Also, I forgot to congratulate Sark for actually darle duro y machacarlo.
Cherek isn’t talking about orcs when he talks about ‘our people’
Success!
Now, will he survive his victory?

meant as answer to Guesticules. Damn.
