Can’t the large spiderish crewmember (I don’t remember if it has a name) spin a line to let them down into the pit/shaft/delve? If they really want to do that, of course.
That’s just Neal, who is the incarnation of Brian’s fear of spiders. Just like Paul is Brian’s fear of mortality, and Mandy is Brian’s fear of rejection.
And how to keep it out of the hands of Smug Douche (who has already illegally ‘imported’ advanced tech, using stolen advanced tech, and breeding his own Supers)
Even if they happen to just have a few live hand-grenades in that vintage car, no guarantee they would be effective against the Devourer or his minions? And you would need an awful lot of concrete to fill that hole, just try and calculate it in width and depth…Apart from, again, they don’t seem to have concrete mixer truck handy (!!), they would need more than one, at least a dozen. Doh! So, maybe not the situation??
Wasn’t expecting the grenades to work on the Devourer or it’s minions (annoying little yellow freaks 😛 ), was thinking more of causing collapse or cave-in, something to block the hole
Was also mostly a facetious comment, mostly aimed at idiot writers (not Mr Hunter) who seem to ignore the obvious sometimes
Smite is nice but she’s no armour, crushing nuts and kicking in doors so that makes me think rage.
Paul was first to respond to Brian’s wound and Dracomage was calling for a death spell from him so that seems like cleric stuff.
Neal I just dumped into druid due to his spider form but who knows.
Drocomage I’m trying to figure into one of the D&D spellcaster classes of Wizard or Sorcerer. Wizards have their magic from learning and cast spells they memorise from their spellbook, but while Dracomage seems to have good knowledge his spellcasting feels more like a sorcerer which are known to simply have inate power.
Brian as a Warlock is more about him having power given him by a sponsor, usually some extraterrestrial/extradimentional being like Cthulhu.

Neal, our spider friend here, looks ready to help out here.
Or they can go down the stairs. Might even be safer. But in any case, it’s already pretty deep so kinda too late on stopping the digging.
That’s a pretty fun dungeoneering party. Average Joe, angry teenage girl, giant spider monster, mummy, and a cartoon wizard.
The weird spider is the Devourer, right? The dungeon is its spiderweb probably. Everybody seems oblivious to the spider, yet it’s very ominous.

Oh… OK.
That guy has many fears. Is it wise to go on delving surrounded by fear?
Well, since these fears are surrounding him, they are not technically part of him right now, so… yes, actually pretty smart?
Anyone else hearing a mashup of “Deeper Underground” and “Underground” playing?
Just me? Oh…
Is this mashup called “Somewhat Deeper Underground”? 🙂
Reminds me of a recent thread in Grrl Power on how dungeons are created and seeded so they can be farmed for “stuff”.

Have they considered tossing a few live, activated, grenades down that hole?
Or maybe pour concrete?

Guess they better pick a class and start racking XP. With luck, the first few levels are just rats and bats with a goblin as the boss.
I’m guessing
Brian: Warlock
Dracomage: Sourcerer
Neil: Druid
Paul: Cleric
Mandy Barbarian
Nah, Mandy is totally a Paladin, primary attack is Smite
You don’t think DM would be a Mage? It’s in his name afterall 😛
