Mmkay, I am officially absolutely fucking lost. I have no idea who is who anymore, why there are two near-identical blue-haired chicks, who the hell Sark was supposed to be, and why do we keep jumping between two entirely unrelated storylines interspersed with whats-his-name hallucinating a mage who-may-or-may-not be some kind of trans-dimensional being created by a D&D campaign.
This story seriously took a turn down Incomprehensible Lane and all the characters I used to like aren’t even a part of it anymore, presumably because they don’t have tits. I’m starting the feel like the story has just become a secondary afterthought to the fetish stuff, nobody even wears clothes anymore, it’s just confusingly obtuse smut. And, well, I didn’t come here for the fetish stuff, I came here because it was a cool adventure comic with neat characters and had a little adult spice to it. I don’t even know who anyone is anymore and nothing in the comic is really helping me to understand who they are.
Look, sorry if the ranting rustles some jimmies, but following this webcomic for the last chapter or two has been frustrating to say the least.
it’s not the first time characters are running naked. Nakedness is so common in Delve I no longer notice it, to be honest.
As for the plotlines, they are related since Paige (who is Bree’s sister, author’s “sisterly love” comment is pretty obvious) is on a quest to deliver a crown to Bree. The whole “greysiders” twist is still confusing, but I believe there is an explanation to it, and for me, it’s what’s interesting.
OK, but the problem is that “Bree” doesn’t exist. She’s a character played by Jen, the “Bree” we’re seeing is just Jen either hallucinating or having been pulled into the D&D campaign or being in purgatory or something. There was never any sister character established, she just appeared out of thin air and I don’t even think their being sisters was ever mentioned.
There is a severe lack of establishing what the fuck is going on in this comic. Ironically, it’s like it’s being written by an incompetent DM.
That’s one way to interpret it, but it doesn’t explain many things (for example, how could Sephni know Bree for years if Bree does not exist). I mean, if one character who was supposed to live in this world all along is not real, then other characters are not real either and nothing makes any sense.
My headcanon is that Bree is real, and Sark is real, and the whole Delve world is real, but it’s connected to “our”, real world where Duran Duran and El Santo exist. This connection allows people from our world (DnD players) to affect events in the Delve world, and in certain circumstances – to possess people. That’s what I believe happened to Sark and Bree, they were real all along, but they got possessed by Jen and some other dude, and now they are pretty messed up.
There are several moments to support this theory. First, Dracomage getting into our world proves Delve world is real (unless Brian is hallucinating which would be an extremely stupid plot twist). Second, when Bree tried to reach out for another soul (page 321) she reached all her friends and Jen, which implies that Jen is another soul, bound with Bree’s soul. Third, Bree is switching back and forth between Bree personality (her normal, pre-Devourer self) and Jen personality (the one who knows about tampons and acts like an asshole). There wouldn’t be any switching if Bree never existed.
What, you are claiming, that because the Author didn’t provide a family tree and relationship chart for every character at the start, that means he is incompetent? o_O
I don’t need a family tree, but if the author does nothing to establish who the character is or what they are doing, then it makes the story needlessly hard to follow. All you need is some tiny shred of exposition like “I’m looking for my sister Bree,” it’s not that hard to weave that information organically into dialogue. But, again, it’s like the writing is an afterthought at this point.
Honestly, I thought that was what I just revealed in this episode, but I can see your point, and I’ll endeavor to set these things up a little better in the future.
It was already established that Paige was looking for her sister to deliver her father’s crown here: https://thisis.delvecomic.com/NewWP/comic/coronal/
And given how she looks it shouldn’t have been too far of a stretch for the reader (us) to figure out that she is Bree’s sister. And even if someone wasn’t able to put two and two together before, this is the comic that establishes their sisterhood in cannon.
Well, when we first saw Paige, she did say she was looking for her sister, who was the rightful heir to the crown, and we do have back story that Bree was bestest friends with royals, Paige and Bree both have blue hair, and both are elves, and fairly sure many at the time speculated that Bree was the sister based on those clues and hints…
Paige has no reason to believe Lyca and co have encountered Bree, so mentioning her name would have made no sense
Most spears are not designed to be thrown, so the fact Paige managed to hit what she was aiming for shows either extreme luck on her part, or she is better than she thinks she is 😀
I was hoping the slime monster would leave Dam’s mouth and nose uncovered.
Then we could imagine the slime monster stimulating her over every inch of her body, repeatedly. Gotta tenderize and give her that special post-orgasms flavor, right?
I laughed way too hard at the chibi Bree and Paige.
Nice job!
Also, om nom nom on Dam’s tail.
It’s… usually better if Dam is in a position to enjoy, and participate
Mmmmph! Paige just went up several notches on the badass sexy meter!

Don’t worry, EVERYTHING we see is part of that hallucination/D&D campaign/purgatory/whatever. If Bree doesn’t exist, neither does rest of cast.
(But, like, Clif08 described it nicely: Delve is real, just somehow still influenced by D&D players from our world.)
If ‘Bree’ doesn’t exist, then why does Paige insist that she is her sister? o_O

Yeah, not sure which characters you are missing, butt the main character(s) were always the ones with tits
With a spear, you’re fresh and full of life

Quick! Grab Dam’s tail and PULL!! Pull before it’s too late!!!
Right in the eye!!
I was hoping the slime monster would leave Dam’s mouth and nose uncovered.
