For some reason, I’m imagining “Last Train to Clarksville” playing in the background.
I got another great Fan Art piece this week that y’all might like. Check it out on the Fan Art page!
In other news, I’m thinking of setting up a Patreon page for folks who wanted to support my art, and I wanted to get your thoughts on the matter.
Basically, I don’t plan on taking anything away from anybody who didn’t choose to participate. Delve would go along pretty much as it always has, but, for those of you who would want to contribute on a “Per Piece” basis, I would set up a Members Only DropBox drive where I would put all my sketches and rough works, as well as things that might be a little too racy, even for an R-rated webcomic.
I’m still a little hazy on what other Kickstarter-style goals I might offer in the long run. It’s not like I’m overburdened with a lot of free time, so I don’t want to make promises I can’t keep, but I think it might work out to be a great opportunity to share some stuff that I don’t have much of an outlet for at this time.
I’m still in the early stages of figuring this out, but I wanted to get your feedback and suggestions.
Thanks!
Sephni is sounding like a ton of fun. As I said before, tortured into insanity plus immortality equals… well, THIS EXACT SITUATION. Which doesn’t end well for anyone, but you cannot gainsay the entertainment value.

Everyone needs an awesome hat.
And I don’t think Sephni is quite as crazy as she’s got everyone thinking she is. More like Three tours of ‘Nam crazy. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and I think ‘ol Drax will come out the worse for it.
Last Train to Clarksville is perfect for this.
Exactly, she’s probably not the “uncontrolled” crazy, but more like the “mad scientist” crazy (without the scientist part).
I’m also assuming that, once she meets Bree again, her sanity will, at least partially, return to her. Until she hears that all of this is Kindall’s fault.
Thanks!
NIIIIIIZZE HAT!
Crack the Soul Bowl, absorb its power, become the next Doctor Manhattan?
Why am i reminded of Harlequinn?
I don’t know. As far as The Monkees songs go, I think “Take a Giant Step” might be a better choice.
Come with me I’ll take you where the taste of life is green
And everyday holds wonders to be seen
Come with me leave yesterday behind
And take a giant step outside your mind
Vrekk, OTOH, would probably feel that This Just Doesn’t Seem To Be My Day would be more appropriate. 🙂
Or maybe Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ktvTqknDobU
Haha. As I read this, I was watching Alias ep2. The exact moment that Sydney digs up the nuke.
IMHO Radioactive from Imagine Dragons would be a good fit too.
I feel sorry for Vrekk. But i love how things are going with this character.
Thank you!
I would say that you merge enjoyable (funny, hot, and well done) art with a compelling story. Do you deserve some compensation for that? Definitely. If all the creators of the world got a little bit for their creations, the world would be a much better place. My only word of caution is that getting paid for something you enjoy doing can sometimes sour the activity. Like paying volunteers for their service eventually produces fewer volunteers.
Thank you. I’m definitely very wary of doing anything that might turn this into a “responsibility” or, dare I say, a “job”!
With this part of the story, my heart weep a little at every update. There is no greater sadness to see somebody changed by the wrong doings of others.
You can’t fix somebody that’s been damaged like you could fix a computer by buying new parts. All one can do is wait for the one damaged to learn to live again and accept the new personality. However, that kind of thing makes for great villains or anti-heroes.
I agree with the above word of caution, but if being a “patreon” means getting to enjoy more of your amazing art, I’m in! Let us know the details. 🙂
Sure thing. I’m working on the details now, and I’ll let everyone know when I have something.
“Once we realized what she was, where she was going…”
Has she become the vessel of Daxxorel himself?! Or is it something different? The Drakons seem to know what she is, so I’m tempted for Daxxorel’s incarnation, yet wouldn’t they be delighted to be eaten by their evil god?
Erratum: Draxorel, with Dr. :/
Another insane God for a insane time.
Uh oh, her eyes in the last panel…absolutely beautiful, bug-fuck, nuts. Talk about being hoist on ones own petard, giving your victim the power of infinite rebirth and then allowing her close to a near infinite power source.

Hope she doesn’t turn ebil, too lovely to be EBIL!!!
Now all she needs to do is dye her hair and she is Zintiel from flaky pastry
Well, I have yet to see Zintiel wearing the skin and skull of someone she probably just ate alive! And anyhow in this panel Sephni doesn’t look like Zintiel anymore, at least to my eyes.
Wellll….maybe ‘channeling’ Zintiel a bit.
She looks so happy.
Andrew, as long as its not an arm and a leg and I get to see some more webbed up elf chicks in a racier format, you have my money for your website.
Thanks! Don’t worry, I’m planning on keeping everything as painless as possible for everyone.
Time is the biggest hurdle in Kickstarter and Patreon – the more you offer the less you have for the regular comic. So I would expect nothing extra for a Patreon account, just that it helps over some of the bumps and makes outputs more regular.
Kickstarter, discussed at another place is a completely different kettle of fish. I would buy a book of Delve, but – I have yet to see a Kickstarter campaign that has not brought turmoil into the regular running of a comic. Some even have brought people’s lives into disarray … tax, postage …
Pressed wrong button, still more to write …
So what could make either work?
Patreon to offer something without disrupting the schedule and having to do extra work: Build a buffer, release pictures on Patreon a few days earlier, call it proof-reading, focus group study … basically give people the bragging right of having seen the next image a few days earlier than their pears.
Kickstarter for a book, as much as I would love it – unless this is your main job or you get someone else to do the p&p and get people to pay a lot on top for it, don’t do it.
Auto-correct is such a peach or shall that be pear … argh!
Pears are avid although penniless readers of webcomics. I’ve also heard of apples and oranges taking a fancy to webcomics.

I completely agree. The very idea of a Kickstarter terrifies me. I think that would be the fastest way to turn my dream into a nightmare.
Patreon, on the other hand, might give me an opportunity to share some work that I don’t have another good outlet for and still be able to keep producing the comic for free.
I still want to do a print book of Delve, but I’m just not convinced that it would be the best investment of my time. I haven’t been able to attend a single convention in the past several years, so all sales would have to be through the site, and I can’t afford printing and warehousing a large print run, and I don’t even want to think about shipping, so they would have to be Print on Demand which would drive the production price way up. I’d be making a few dimes off of every book, and I’m still not convinced you kind folks aren’t all just figments of my imagination, so I have no idea how many would actually sell. 8)
Then, again, if the Patreon thing goes well… who knows?
There is also Indiegogo – you don’t need to have a product – you can fund an idea or such, like hiring a small company to do the publishing for you, it just comes down to the degree of control you want to retain. I found this insightful:

holy cow it’s Lux
Really! She is sister of Zintiel of Flaky Pastry!!!
