Ah, did she actually think Bree was gonna stay in one place for any length of time? Silly sister! Bree’s got a realm to clean up and defend, and sitting in seclusion on a throne isn’t going to get the job done when she’s able and willing to get her hands—and other parts of her body—dirty.
While cheating a bit in summoning up ‘the fairies’ (never previous mentioned, unless you count some of the DM’s minions back long ago) to do the renovation work at Highbranch, I guess it does cut corners, story-wise, and some in the Delve fan-base quickly get bored if a page doesn’t have fast-forward action in it.
That said, we have a long overdue sister talk. First, Bree’s outfit. Smart, do I detect a vague Spanish (i.e., Mexican) influence to fit Jen’s heritage? Hoping to see the rear view soon, but the cleavage looks good. How’s the scratch-marks? Does she need a bit of Paige healing?
Next, Paige outfit. Personally, I liked the grey outfit she acquired from Jen’s wardrobe in the ‘Found’, it showed off her body nicely, which maybe the maid’s choice of frilly dresses might not.
Finally, Paige as ‘Regent’. Nice move, Bree. I’m thinking this is shifting day-to-day running of the Wood-Elf Queendom to Paige, while Bree goes off (as she does) on more adventures – maybe chasing Betrys’s quest, or a link-up with her Orc avatar lover, Sark. Not sure (after the last panel shock) how Paige is going to react to this sudden promotion in the royal hierarchy. Knowing Paige and Bree’s backstory, probably not very favourably!
A good page, artistically, of our two heroines. Again personally, I love seeing them together, sparking off each other.
LOVE the “Midnight Run” illustration, different in style to Delve. Especially like the cat’s expression!
Why so surprised, Paige? Stuff still neds to be done. Important stuff. You know, the kind of stuff that made youe go through barriers (plural) betwen worlds to get Bree to get her shit together and solve that stuff.
OF COURSE she’s gonna get someone else to sit on that throne and waste time warming the velvet while she goes to do her fucking job.
I guess that managing to kill, defeat or befriend -wait, FOUR dragons already?, kind of makes one deserving of a little break from duty to bathe in that glory (Moonblade dixit)
> Regent: a person appointed to administer a country because the monarch is a minor or is absent or incapacitated.
I’m guessing absent.

Fun fact, “Denethor” is an anagram of “dethrone”.
Mind. Blown.

And there we have it: Breen may have accepted being the Queen, but she has no intent on sitting on the throne for any longer than she needs 😛

Nothing quite like taking all the glory and prestige while dumping the duty on to someone else
