The only candidate I can think of is Kindall, and the hair color matches, but there’s no way in hell they would let him go. Also Kindall was willing to feed Sephni to the Devourer, so he likely cares not about her.

Your anecdote about your children is entirely too relatable XD. For me, there’s always a second of hesitation where I think “do I REALLY have to deal with this…?” Usually followed by a quick conclusion that ignoring the suspicious sounds will result in bigger problems later.
